How we make money
Plainly: we plan to earn commissions when readers buy products through links on this site. Here's exactly where that stands and the rules that keep it from bending our advice.
Where things stand today
As of October 10, 2026, Robot Uncovered holds no affiliate approvals. Every "See it at…" button on the site links directly to the seller's own page, with no tracking code. We earn nothing from those clicks.
We intend to apply to affiliate programs run by some of the merchants we cover. When a program approves us, links to that merchant will change to tracked affiliate links, marked with rel="sponsored", and we'll record the change in our updates log. This page will list every active program.

The rules
- Commissions never decide what we recommend or how we rank it. The System Builder's rules are about your home, not our payout. We recommend products that can't earn us anything — like Apple Watch's built-in fall detection or Snug's free check-in tier — whenever they're the right answer.
- No sponsored rankings, ever. We don't sell placement, "editor's choice" badges or reviews.
- We say when we earn nothing. If the best option has no affiliate program, we still recommend it.
- No products that fail our safety rules, regardless of commission: specialist-only devices, orphaned emergency products, and preorders don't get buy buttons.
- Disclosure on every commercial page, before you reach a buy button, linking here.
- Prices you pay don't change because of an affiliate link.
Other income
We don't currently run display ads, accept sponsored posts, or take payment for coverage. If that changes, we'll say so here first.
Free products
We haven't received free products. If a manufacturer lends or gives us a product in the future for testing, we'll disclose it on that product's page. A loan never comes with approval rights over what we write.
Amazon
If we join the Amazon Associates program, this statement will apply: "As an Amazon Associate, Robot Uncovered earns from qualifying purchases." We are not an Amazon Associate today.
